Pursuit of happyness. Reel and real

I was at the theatres in India today. Sathyam in Chennai. Real good movies and real professional atmosphere unlike anything I have seen before. Impressed.

Pursuit of happyness..a feel good movie. It wasn't up to the level I expected from it. I thought it would be a more down to the grass root struggle about living, life and existence and simple joys or truths gleaned from experience. More a close to heart movie. But it turned out to be a regular masala "feel good".

Hmm..

Talking of simple things in life. Wishing people would be more thoughtful..How mush does it take to be a regular friend?

How much more so to be a good one? I am extremely disappointed with the quality of people I meet in life. Not that I am a great package.

I keep expecting a bit of thoughtfulness and non calculative tendency among people..But no. I am disappointed each time.

I don't want to explain it to anyone. Not tell anybody I feel bad about their gesture. But I want them to realize. Just realize life is just not about money, ime, enjoyment or selfish pursuits. But about living. Living with everybody around us.

If a crow is hurt on the road pavement, I see hundreds of crows crying madly for the poor dead one. Strangers by birth but commoners by creed. I see animal activists crying out aloud for creatures that are left hapless by the indifference of man.

But I see nobody acting nemesis to the countless countless countless number of feelings that get squashed each day, each second on all regions of the earth...

What do we care about the kid who did not manage to see the much awaited cricket game for you wanted to see kolangal, anandam and other mindless nonsense?

What about the granny who did not get to watch bantham for you were too busy hogging the remote space for highlights?

The guy who stands pathetically on the road cleaning your window wipers and you pretend not to notice him?

When you spend 1000 rupees on a big chain of restaurants in the city outside which stands a lady old enough to be your granny without slippers, begging for a single loaf of bread that you throw away?

Of your friends? When you don't even have the courtesy to share your lunch you thought you are going to pay for?

The thought that somebody is ill? unable to step out? Did you even try to call them and make them feel better?

What does the rest of the world mean to us? We who are too busy thinking about ourselves. ME, ME AND MORE ME.

A guy calls you repeatedly to make sure you are alright after an illness or accident.You don't even bother to return his
calls.

What are we?

I don't exempt myself from it. I am making a sincere effort to change.

We don't have to go out of our way to make somebody happy. But we can try not hurting anybody else's feelings.

I really don't think all of us appreciate what it is to know that somebody is thinking of us. We take it for granted.

You may be a popular somebody others worship. We might be so high and mighty that we don't even care about hurting anybody. But God did not give you the right of control over another's tears.

All the incident I have quoted above, they are absolutely true. Some of which I have been the offended and the rest the
offensive.

Pursuit of happiness..Whose? mine, urs or ours??
