Minnows show who are the real underdogs!!!

It has been an extremely disappointing day at least for the cricketing subcontinent.
Pakistan crashed out of the tournament and India probably headed the same way.

I cant help guessing the intelligence of Steve Waugh when he pointed the attitude of Indian players. I promise you : I would rather be an aggressive, foul mouthed delivering team than the meek one that stands destroyed by a team with as much experience as in cricket as India's one year's outings!!!!

Though the general sentiment was against Pakistan, Ireland did really deserve to win, I was wistfully thinking of the elder days. I call it elder for it will never be the same again. It is as though the ages of the middle earth over and the mantel passing on. India Vs Pakistan. The clash of giants. Inzamam, Akhtar, Afridi Vs Tendulkar, Azhar, Jadeja...Man. The quarter finals of the 1997? world cup.

We shall probably never see even the present heroes bat, field or throw themselves against each other ever. In the world cup spirit. It does leave something lagging.

It also shows I am becoming old. :)) Thinking wistfully for has-beens and fighting against will-bes!!! I am wannabe old timer...

Yesterday belonged to Ireland and Bangaladesh. Hats off and best wishes to them..One cant help wishing for successes for these so called minnows.

How is that when it comes to India we are always calculating about other teams prospects than score a clear edge by ourselves? If Zimbabwe fails, Srilanka scores less than 20???? I am sick of this. I would we would follow the example of S.Africa. Pull out of International cricket completely, pick ourselves up, dust off and polish and shine before venturing to the real world out there.

Even when batting against a team that came for the experience!!!!! I am shocked. The score board laughs at us. 2 points given away on a silver platter and all we can come up with is a slew of excuses.

I wish the Indian team would make me eat my words but I know it is going to be otherwise. Atleast let us win the next 2 points gracefully.!!!!

As a half a billion hearts stopped beating..India disappointing as usual.
